Historical Society Walk-A-Thon on May 10th

Stratton. Maine. Have your gotten your pledge sheets for The Dead River Area Historical Society Walk-A-Thon Saturday May 10th at 10 a.m? Starting time will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Starting place will be at the Camden National Bank parking lot, walk up School Street, first station will be at Earl Meyers and turning around at the site of the Old Dump 2 miles away and returning to the bank parking lot. This will be a fun and fit activity for all ages from kindergartners through senior citizens. Drinks and snacks will be provided at each mile marker along the way. Porter House Restaurant has donated a $50.00 gift certificate to the adult bringing in the most money. The Rack has donated a $25.00 gift certificate for the child bringing in the most money.

1. Participants may start collecting pledges as soon as they receive the pledge sheets. Reminder: Pledge sheets can be picked up at Northland Cash and they need to be turned in at the Walk-A-Thon on Saturday May 10th.

2. Pledges may be made by anyone. Please ask everyone if the company they work for has a matching gift policy.

3. Each sponsor making a pledge should write his or her own name, pledge per mile, and maximum pledge.

4. Participants will receive a mile tag to be punched at each Drink & Snack Station to record their miles.

5. Upon completion of the Walk-A-Thon, participants will hand in their lap tags. A volunteer will record each individual mile total on their pledge sheet and return it. Participants may then collect outstanding pledges. Please return pledge sheets with the money to Mary Henderson, President/Treasurer, 180 Main Street, PO Box 15, Stratton, Me by May 17th. All contributions are tax- deductible

6. For the safety of smaller participants, we ask no running or jogging, only walking.
