
Maine Heritage Itinerary Meeting on May 11th

Join us on Friday, May 11th at 9:30am to learn about Heritage Tourism, the fastest Share Your Heritage Itinerary Meeting growing segment of tourism in the Country. At the same time, learn how your business can participate in an exciting, AND FREE, on-line opportunity to promote your business as part of a Travel Itinerary featuring Rangeley’s Rich History of Fishing and the Unique Cultural Heritage is has produced. The itinerary will be hosted on the Maine Office of Tourism website for FREE and will expose your business and the Region to a potentially new and growing segment of the population.
At the meeting you will hear from Bruce Hazard, the Executive Director of Mountain Counties Heritage (MCH). Bruce will explain what Heritage Tourism is and the economic impact that Heritage-based tourism has had throughout the Country. In addition, he will explain who the Heritage visitor is, and the kind of experiences, accommodations, and purchases this type of visitor is looking for. Finally, he will explain how a Heritage-based itinerary works, and the keys to an itinerary’s success. In so doing, he will explain how Rangeley’s Heritage-based travel itinerary will work, and the potential impacts it has on Rangeley businesses and the local economy.
This important organizational meeting will be held at Orgonon, from 9:30 to 11:00ish on Friday, May 11th. It will provide an opportunity to learn more about Heritage Tourism, and how Rangeley is ideally suited to take advantage of the public’s interest in history, culture, and authentic experiences.
