August 23rd Program scheduled is Apple Varieties

Warren Balgooyen returns again to the museum for a program on different apple varieties.

This Sunday's program will be about different apple varieties  Mr. Balgooyen is a Colby College graduate with a degree in biology.  He was employed at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn N.Y. from 1963 to 1983. In 1983 Mr. Balgooyen became a freelance naturalist and landscaper here in Maine. He is a board member of several conservation and wildlife groups.  He runs a small nursery at his home in Norridgewock, Maine. He, also, writes a nature column for "The Town Line" a weekly published in South China, Maine. He, also, contributes to the "Birdwatchers Digest".

Visitors are encouraged to visit the Observatory building which details the life and work of renowned physician/scientist Wilhelm Reich whose interest in the natural environment led to the introduction of the Natural Science Program in 1989. The Observatory is open Wednesday through Sunday 1-5 p.m. in July and August, September Sundays only 1-5 p.m. The adult admission fee to the museum is $6.00, children 12 and under are free. The Sunday Nature programs are free of charge and start at 2pm .

The Natural Science Program is funded by individual donors.  See you there.
